Bridges / Dentures

Tooth loss is a compounding issue; when you lose one, your risk of losing more increases. As a result, patients who suffer tooth loss but don’t seek appropriate treatment may eventually lose most or all of their teeth. Modern bridges and dentures are designed to address varying degrees of tooth loss, and with CEREC digital impression technology, Dr. Cook can design your restoration with highly lifelike results. In addition to restoring the health and esthetics of your smile, custom restorations also improve your long-term oral health and help reduce your risks of future complications.

A dental bridge, which consists of one or more replacement teeth (called pontics), is supported by crowns on either side. The crowns are bonded to the healthy teeth that border the gap in your smile. A partial denture can address more serious cases of tooth loss by spanning the entire length of your dental ridge. A partial consists of replacement teeth where necessary, but is designed to fit around your remaining healthy teeth. If you’ve lost all of your teeth on the upper or lower dental ridge, then Dr. Cook will suggest a full denture to completely rebuild the ridge.

If you qualify, Dr. Cook may recommend supporting your bridge or denture on an appropriate number of dental implants. With the support of several implant posts, your replacement teeth will look and feel like your natural teeth, complete with root-like anchors that stimulate your jawbone.
